What is ISIC?

The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) is the only internationally recognised* student ID card. Since its launch in 1968, the ISIC card has helped over 40 million students to get the most out of their travel experience.

The ISIC Association's main product is the ISIC card, the only internationally recognised* student ID card. The card is recognised by universities, academic institutions, student organisations, national governments and ministries of education around the world. The ISIC Association has maintained a close relationship with UNESCO and together they promote student travel, cultural exchange and international understanding.

History of ISIC & Unesco

The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) was launched in 1968 and has since grown into a family consisting of over 4.5 million members across 106 countries worldwide. Since its inception the ISIC Association has maintained a close relationship with UNESCO and together they promote student travel, cultural exchange and international understanding. With UNESCO endorsement the ISIC is the only internationally recognised proof of student status.
